3 Different Types of Hair Extensions
Having long, gorgeous hair has been the dream of many women for centuries. Whether you have difficulty growing your hair long, want long hair sooner rather than later, or just want to enhance your natural hair, hair extensions are the way to go. There are a few different ways to get hair extensions and it's up to you to decide which is best. Here's a breakdown of the three most popular styles.
Clip In
Clip in extensions are a great place to start if you've never had extensions before. There is a flat bundle of hair attached to a weft, which is then attached to a clip. You simply part your hair where you want the extension, and clip it right in! Then, at the end of the day you can unclip them with no damage to your natural hair.
Tape In
Tape in extensions are very similar to clip in because they both have flat bundles attached to a weft. However, instead of a clip, the weft is attached to a piece of tape. To install, you'll part your hair, place the extension at the root, then apply the tape to keep it in place. These are slightly more permanent, but you'll need to get re-taped every 6-8 weeks.
Glue In
Glue in extensions come in 2 different styles: I-tip and U-tip. An I-tip has a bundle of hair that's all kept together at the ends in a straight line with a piece of glue. A U-tip is similar, but has a U-shaped end instead of a straight line. The natural hair is nestled into this U-shape, then a hot tool is used to seal the glue around the hair.
